The program is designed for outgoing, high-achieving, community-involved students who have demonstrated responsibility and leadership. Legislative Pages meet key parliamentary and political figures, and learn first-hand about Ontario’s Parliament and the legislative process.

While at Queen’s Park, they are under the direction of the Page Program Coordinator who is a certified Ontario teacher. Pages also receive an honorarium during their term of duty.

Testimonial

The following testimonial was submitted by Julien G, a grade 9 student from Barrie, Ontario. They answered the following key questions. Julien rates this program a 10 out of 10.

What stood out about this opportunity that makes it such a unique experience worthy of being part of The Collection?

The ability to meet people from all around the province and have long lasting and meaningful connections was one of the factors that made this program so unique. The experience of being on the floor of The Assembly, surrounded by all the action, yet grounded by duty is something that I will never forget.

What is something a youth applying to this program should know?

The early mornings are going to be difficult, especially if you are commuting far from The Assembly, but it is 100% worth it. In terms of applications, don’t hold back your special and unique self. They receive a lot of applications, they want to hear about different and out of the ordinary things that make you who you are. Lastly, they are very busy so if you don’t get a response right away do not panic. Mine felt like FOREVER!

What was your favourite activity/experience in program?

My favourite activity in the program had to be meeting all of the MPPs and other figure heads at Queens Park. I also found travelling under the tunnel from The Assembly to Witney Block was a super cool experience. Another highlight was dressing up in a three piece special assembly suit and of course meeting so many friends who I am still in contact with to this day.
