MUN stands for Model United Nations and is an educational and academic simulation of diplomatic decision making. During an MUN conference, students aged 12 and older learn about diplomacy, international relations, the United Nations and other international organizations. MUN teaches its participants, called "Delegates" valuable skills like researching, public speaking, debating, and writing, teamwork, and cultural empathy.

What stood out about this opportunity that makes it such a unique experience?

This is the ultimate resource for anyone who wants to get into or already loves the MUN world! I discovered MyMUN when I was first learning about the MUN world and it was so helpful navigating this exciting world. I was able to find all of the conferences that I was interested in participating in that I otherwise would have never known about. Because of MyMUN I had the opportunity to participate in MUNs from countries in completely different timezones. It was a perfect way to enter the MUN world at your own pace and at no cost!

What is something a youth applying to this program should know?

Don’t take on too much at once! It is super tempting to go down the list of all of these awesome conferences and sign up for every single one however it is important to pass yourself! Two or three conferences that you really enjoyed and put all of your effort into is way better then 10 conferences that you frantically prepared for last minute.

What was your favourite activity/experience in program?

My favourite part about this tool is that you can find conferences that are online and cost no money to attend. This was super helpful as a fist time MUN participant just testing the waters of the MUN world!
